Junior year - January to June

·      Create your personality profile, interests profile

·      Research to ensure that you’re on track to meet all academic and testing requirements for your schools of interest. 

·      Set goals for the next semester and year

·      Plan your test dates (AP and SAT/ACT)

·      Develop one’s personal management of anxiety and stress

·      Take your AP exams

·      Study for ACT or SAT

·      Think about who at school can write you good recommendation letters

·      Plan ahead for the summer (college visits, etc)

Summer before Senior year

·      Take final ACT or SAT exams

·      Work on Common App Essay (personal statement) and entire application

·      Complete your summer extracurricular project(s)

·      Visit college campuses

·      Continue developing executive function skills, setting goals

·      Work on financial literacy (developing independent life skills)

Senior year - September and October

·      Complete all application essays

·      Finalize your school list

·      Request that all standardized test scores (ACT, AP, SAT) be sent to the schools on your list

·      Complete supplemental essays for early action or early decision schools

·      Check in with recommendation letter writers about the status of their letters

 

Senior year - November and December

·      Complete all applications and supplemental essays for regular decision schools

·      Review and update all “to do” lists in preparation for the new calendar year

 

Senior year - January to May 

·      Apply for college scholarships

·      Consider regular decision acceptances

·      Contact waitlist schools if necessary

·      Make your final decision on where you will attend

·      Review and finish your financial literacy independent life skills goals
